We are pleased about a change in accessibility to our grants. Previously, grant recipients were required to fund their projects and upon completion, collect reimbursement for their expenses. The Mass Cultural Council is encouraging LCCs to switch to Direct Funding in order to transfer these funds to grant recipients as quickly as possible thereby alleviating any financial hardships. We believe this funding method assures an equitable playing field for all artists and organizations regardless of economic status and streamlines the entire process for our grantees, the SCC and our Shelburne Town Treasurer. We also prefer to interact with our grantees on a basis of trust. It sometimes happens that a project cannot be completed as per the Grant Agreement; in this event, simply return funds to the SCC. And please note that failure to do so could jeopardize future grant application consideration.
