Child Safety Seats

Keeping your kids safe when you are on the road is your top priority. This section will provide information regarding car seat installation, car seat laws, and locating a local car seat inspection site.

Crash Operator Report Forms

M.G.L. Chapter 90, Section 26 requires a person who was operating a motor vehicle involved in a crash in which (i) any person was killed or (ii) injured or (iii) in which there was damage in excess of $1,000 to any one vehicle or other property, to complete and file a Crash Operator Report with the Registrar within five days after such crash (unless the person is physically incapable of doing so due to incapacity).

Domestic Violence

Here you will find local domestic violence services. You can either search by zip code or city/town or find help in a specific Massachusetts county. If it is an emergency call 911.

Drop Boxes for Drugs

The mission of DEA's Diversion Control Division is to prevent, detect, and investigate the diversion of controlled pharmaceuticals and listed chemicals from legitimate sources while ensuring an adequate and uninterrupted supply for legitimate medical, commercial, and scientific needs.

Firearms Forms & Applications

A firearms license is required to possess or carry firearms in Massachusetts.

Firearms Registration & Laws

Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 140, section 121-131Q regulate firearm possession and licensing in the Commonwealth.

Identity Theft

The Massachusetts State Police serves as the statewide law enforcement agency and maintains investigative, tactical, and support units throughout the Commonwealth.

Identity Theft Guide for Victims & Consumers (PDF)

Identity theft is a serious crime with serious costs for victims. ID theft occurs when someone obtains your personal information - such as your Social Security Number, credit card or account numbers, passwords, among others - to defraud or commit crimes.

MA General Laws

General Laws are Session Laws or sections of Session Laws that are permanent in nature and of general application. General Laws are codified according to subject matter in a multi-volume publication entitled the General Laws of Massachusetts. The official version of the General Laws is now published every two years, with cumulative pamphlets released periodically. This site provides an unofficial version of the General Laws, available through the index below or search feature.

MA Registry of Motor Vehicles

Visit the Registry of Motor Vehicles' Online Service Center for over 40 transactions that can be completed online and skip the trip to the RMV.

Sex Offender Registry Board (SORB)

The Sex Offender Registry Board promotes public safety by educating and informing the public to prevent further victimization. We register and classify convicted sex offenders according to their risk of re-offense and the degree of danger they pose.
